When Is Britney Going to Die?

4chan Logo Contest
There’s a new frontpage on 4chan and recently they asked for the user’s help in designing a new logo. I’m always up for a challenge like that, so I submitted my logo yesterday. What you see above (the bottom one) is what I came up with. The details were rather strict regarding the new logo, so that’s why it bears a striking resemblance, but allow me to explain.

The only good thing I can say about the current logo is the font used for “4chan”, but I don’t like the way the font looks on “four more years”. Yotsuba’s (a manga character that has been their mascot since forever I think, amazing manga by the way, check out my blog post) pigtails looks horrible and are way too big compared to the font.

While I actually like the font the original logo used, I don’t think it went that well with the overall, ehm, “theme” of 4chan or whatever you’d call it. So that’s why I used a less serious, but still quite elegant font. I didn’t use italics for the slogan either, because I thought it looked stupid and finally I used smaller pigtails. Not much has changed, yet everything has. I’m pretty confident it won’t win the contest though, but we’ll see. I’m only doing this for the fun of it, so I have nothing to lose.

Fun Photoshop Contest
Over at Worth1000.com they have another cool Photoshop contest and as usual the rules are are pretty simple: make people disappear from movie stills.
Misfit Toys
There’s an awesome Photoshop contest over at Worth1000, which is all about creating toys. Bad toys.
In this contest, your task will be to create children’s playthings that are just downright bad. Perhaps they send the wrong messages to children, or they’re dangerous and could maim or kill a tyke, or maybe they’re just something plain silly that no kid in their right mind would ever want to play with.
I thought Saw II was pretty good by the way, but all in all it had nothing on the original in my opinion.
