AND IN THAT MOMENT, I SWEAR WE WERE INFINITE

Nighteye is a weblog written by Dennis Ihlemann, a 21-year-old design aficionado hailing from Denmark. This site is a collection of his thoughts on movies, games, music, television, technology, anime, books, design, photography, typography, life, etc. Oh, and with a bit of lolcat thrown in here and there for good measure.

Chinese Democracy on the Radio

The title track “Chinese Democracy” has been chosen as the first single and it’s going on radio today. Here’s a snippet:

There’s a higher quality version of this snippet out there and it sounds even better. It beats the leak of the entire song that’s been floating around on the Internet, that’s for sure. I thought “Better” would be the first single though, I think that song would appeal a bit more to the masses.

Chinese Democracy Starts Now

There’s been a lot of rumors lately about a potential November release for Chinese Democracy, but now it seems to really be happening. According to Best Buy (which has managed to get an exclusive Chinese Democracy deal) November 25th, 2008 will be the day the album is finally released. I can’t freaking wait. Also interested in seeing all 3 covers of the album.

Elliot Minor in December

Elliot Minor are coming to Denmark this December and I simply need to go. Their band name is a tribute to Elliot Reid from the TV show Scrubs. Pretty cool, I love that show!

Below is the music video for “Still Figuring Out”:

You should also check out Parallel World, Time After Time, The White One Is Evil and Jessica. I’m a huge fan of the classical and musical, almost theatrical thing they have going on. I love that stuff!

Chinese Democracy WILL Be Released This Year

According to Kerrang! this is the year that the album will see the light of day:

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has finished work on the long-awaited album Chinese Democracy.

The band’s label Geffen has confirmed they are in possession of the album - which cost a reported $6.5 million to make - and are currently fleshing out an agreement with Rose over its release.

Looks like he wanted that free can of Dr Pepper!

The Dr Pepper thing is of course referring to this story.

From Under the Cork Tree

[rating:4.0]

This is the Limited “Black Clouds and Underdogs” Edition.

I know Fall Out Boy has been played to death in the US, but they’re really not THAT well known here in Denmark, except for maybe “Dance, Dance”. I’ve been listening quite a bit to some of these 18 tracks (some of which you can hear samples of below), but there’s a also a lot of tracks I find mediocre. The comparison to Panic! At The Disco is inevitable and I must say that Fall Out Boy just don’t do the same thing for me.

The Limited “Black Clouds and Underdogs” Edition was released in December of 2005, featuring three new songs, remixes of “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” and “Dance, Dance”, and on the iTunes-exclusive version, their respective music videos.

(via Wikipedia)

Below I’ve intentionally avoided choosing “Dance, Dance”, “Sugar We’re Goin’ Down” and “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More ‘Touch Me’”, as I bet everybody have heard them.

I’ve Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth” (Summer Song)

My favorite song (not counting the first 3 singles - I like “Dance, Dance” the most I think) on the album.

Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn’t Get Sued

The ribbon on my wrist says, “Do not open before Christmas.”

Perfect for this time of year.

Sophomore Slump Or Comeback of the Year

Another of my favorite songs.

Of All the Gin Joints In All the World

There’s something about this song that makes me happy.

Nobody Puts Baby In the Corner

I like the beginning a lot.

Champagne For My Real Friends, Real Pain For My Sham Friends

An OK song.
