AND IN THAT MOMENT, I SWEAR WE WERE INFINITE

Nighteye is a weblog written by Dennis Ihlemann, a 21-year-old design aficionado hailing from Denmark. This site is a collection of his thoughts on movies, games, music, television, technology, anime, books, design, photography, typography, life, etc. Oh, and with a bit of lolcat thrown in here and there for good measure.

Elliot Minor in December

Elliot Minor are coming to Denmark this December and I simply need to go. Their band name is a tribute to Elliot Reid from the TV show Scrubs. Pretty cool, I love that show!

Below is the music video for “Still Figuring Out”:

You should also check out Parallel World, Time After Time, The White One Is Evil and Jessica. I’m a huge fan of the classical and musical, almost theatrical thing they have going on. I love that stuff!

The Back Horn

The Back Horn is a Japanese rock band I recently discovered.

The band got started around April in 1998, when the original members all came to Tokyo from the countryside where they all lived, all for different reasons. They met, and decided to start a band. First called Gyorai, they soon changed their name to The Back Horn.

(via Wikipedia)

Some of their songs start out pretty weird, but most I end up thinking are OK. They remind me a bit of Asian Kung-Fu Generation though.

Here are a couple of noteworthy songs I like so far:

UPDATE: Updated the post with Youtube links instead of the files I had embedded from my own server. They were using too much bandwith for my liking.

A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out

If anybody’s wondering why I haven’t heard of this band until now then it’s because I live in Denmark.

Anyway…

These past four or five days I’ve been listening non-stop to Panic! At The Disco’s album “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out”. For me, it’s one of those rare, RARE CDs where you only skip a few songs, instead of only listening to a few songs.

Other than delivering great quality throughout, what strikes me is the fact that the songs have the longest names I’ve ever seen in my life.

1. Introduction - ?/10 (It’s an intro, soooo…)

2. Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage - 10/10

3. London Beckoned Songs About Money Written by Machines - 10/10

4. Nails for Breakfast, Tacks for Snacks - 8.5/10

5. Camisado - 9.5/10

6. Time to Dance - 10/10

7. Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off - 10/10

8. Intermission - ?/10 (No lyrics, so don’t think of it as a song)

9. But It’s Better If You Do - 9.5/10

10. I Write Sins Not Tragedies - 10/10 (My favorite)

11. I Constantly Thank God for Esteban - 7/10

12. There’s a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven’t - 8/10

13. Build God, Then We’ll Talk - 7.5/10

Favorite tracks: 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10.

And here’s the video for their newest single “But It’s Better If You Do”:

Asian Kung-Fu Generation

I just heard “Blue Train” by Asian Kung-Fu Generation (AKFG) and after listening to it several times it just got better and better. I really like their style, but it’s like they remind me of another band, I just can’t put my finger on it.
