AND IN THAT MOMENT, I SWEAR WE WERE INFINITE

Nighteye is a weblog written by Dennis Ihlemann, a 21-year-old design aficionado hailing from Denmark. This site is a collection of his thoughts on movies, games, music, television, technology, anime, books, design, photography, typography, life, etc. Oh, and with a bit of lolcat thrown in here and there for good measure.

iPhone 3G in Japan

Some people speculated that the iPhone wouldn’t do well in Japan, but Danny Choo’s blog post proves that’s not the case. At all actually! If that didn’t made you click on the link, then how about the fact that you can see Danny Choo in his infamous Stormtrooper armor (as seen in this classic video)? That guy is just awesome.

The Strangers Trailer

The Strangers

I’m really obsessed with movies lately. The Strangers starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman (even though it reminds me a lot of Funny Games U.S.) looks really scary! Watch the trailer.

iTunes Store Top Music Retailer in the US

I’ve been following the iTunes Store and how it’s slowly become more popular. It’s No. 1 now.

Apple® today announced that the iTunes® Store (www.itunes.com) surpassed Wal-Mart to become the number one music retailer in the US, based on the latest data from the NPD Group*. With over 50 million customers, iTunes has sold over four billion songs and features the world’s largest music catalog of over six million songs.

On Using Safari for Windows

I’ve previously tried Safari for Windows, but there were so many bugs I couldn’t be bothered. A few days ago I was notified that there was an update for Safari, which I put off for a while. After some time I finally updated and I’m pleased to say that it’s light years ahead of the previous version(s). It’s actually pretty good. As with iTunes it does feel a bit awkward having an app that was intended and visually appears to be made for Mac installed on Windows, but other than that I’m of course in love with the little things that Apple has always had an eye for; like breathtaking, smooth font rendering, beautiful buttons — you know, the details. As a person who’s extremely interested in design this stuff matters to me.

That you can adjust the length of articles whenever you’re viewing a site’s RSS feed is also pretty neat:

Safari for Windows

For porn enthusiasts there’s even something called private browsing:

Turn on private browsing and Safari won’t store your Google searches, your cookies, the history of sites you’ve visited, your download history, or information from online forms you’ve filled out.

Not everything is as it should be though. I have no idea where all my quicktags, like img, link, code and so forth are. I mean, they should appear whenever I’m writing an entry, but alas they’re not.

So, should you use Safari over, say, Firefox or Internet Explorer? Perhaps not if you love Firefox and all your add-ons and I hear that FF3 should be awesome once it’s released, but as for IE that’s always a yes. Everything really is better than IE. I don’t know about IE7, but my blog doesn’t show up correctly in IE6 and that’s just typical. But no matter what, consider giving Safari a try. You might like it.

Mad As Rabbits Teaser

Here’s a preview of the video you’ll get if you pre-order the deluxe version of Pretty. Odd. on iTunes. Sadly this is something I won’t get, because I pre-ordered the physical CD, but then again it’s already packed with awesome extras like a DVD containing a making of the album and other stuff, so I’m not complaining.

About the preview; I love that Ryan Ross gets to sing on this album. Judging by the leak of Behind the Sea he really does have a great singing voice! I’ve heard the leaks are just demos though, but I’m not sure.

Danish Police Befuddled by 1G iMac

Oh man.

When the author’s roommate agreed to also let the police look at her first generation iMac, they were frustrated because they thought the iMac was just the screen. They wanted to know where the actual computer was and got rather heated about finding it.

Yesterday I wrote a post about another bad thing that happened in Denmark.

Gotta be honest with you, not very proud of living in Denmark right now. Two rather big and embarrassing stories on the front page of Digg within a few days.

MacHeads the Movie

I’ll be all over this when it’s released. And I’m pretty sure one of the guys said he’s from Denmark. Just had to point that out.

Nine in the Afternoon Gets iTunes Release Date

Nine in the Afternoon, the first single by Panic at the Disco gets a digital release date.

Panic At The Disco will be releasing their single “Nine In The Afternoon” in the UK physically on March 10th and digitally on March 3rd, but will be available on iTunes in the US on January 29th. AbsolutePunk.net

That’s not as far away as I initially thought. The US date I mean. That is if I can actually access the US iTMS. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I can.

A small version of the single cover can be found here.

Sidenote

Does anyone know how to extract the large version of a cover from iTMS?
