New Plugin Installed

These days I’m trying to make some improvements to the site. Yesterday I managed to install this great plugin called Extended Live Archive, which can be seen by simply going to my archives. So far I really love it, it gives a great overview of my past posts in a quick and easy way. It was a bit of a hassle to get it to work, but it’s all worth it now.

Flash Earth

Flash Earth is a very neat site, which basically lets you play around with Google Maps satellite images in a much smoother and more cool way. Furthermore it also allows you to choose to switch to MSN Virtual Earth, depending on your preference.

A Silent Upgrade

I now run this website on WordPress 2.01 (upgraded from 1.5.2) so even though it can be hard to spot the difference, trust me, a lot has happened to the software, with several hundred bugs now fixed. 114 bugs were fixed from 2.0 to 2.01 alone.

Seems really cool so far, the biggest difference for me right now, being a brand new WYSIWYG editor to play around with.

UPDATE: Also updated with a new theme, which is called K2. And finally also managed (after numerous tries) to make a decent header image.

Byakuyakou Episode 1 Gallery

I already put up a gallery of this show earlier, but now feel like that was a bit weak after having watched the first 93 minute episode yesterday. So this time around there’s over 100 images, but the next episodes won’t have as many though.

The drama is very promising already. Most of the episode were about the two main characters as 11 year olds, and it was very cute to see the relationship between the two develop already there, and only strengthened by the dark secrets they both share. A very cute, but also dark and tragic first episode. Can’t wait to see what will happen next time.

JerryC

JerryC is the guy who did Canon in D on his guitar and I thought that even though I really like that song the best, I’d also post the other songs he’s done, which are also great!

I found out about the guy a while ago through “The Best of Google Video” - an incredible collection of some of the best videos out there. Be sure to check that out as well.

So Many Good TV-Series, So Little Time

To get a better overview of what I’m watching these days I’ll list the shows:

Masters of Horror - watched 7/13 episodes.
A brilliant series, with some awesome stories except for a few ones. I can’t believe that they got such great directors in on the project, like John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing), John Landis (American Werewolf in London), Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy), Dario Argento (Suspiria, Terror at The Opera), and probably the most interesting being Takashi Miike (One Missed Call, Audition, Gozu), and some other directors as well.

I wouldn’t say that I’ve been scared shitless by any of the episodes, but I’ve jumped in some scenes. But overall it’s just really good, and all the stories are interesting in one way or another. But what did I expect with such directors?

1 Litre of Tears - watched 8/11 episodes.
It’s just getting better and better (sadder), and it’s both painful and a joy to follow Aya’s life.

The series is based on her diary, which she kept going until she couldn’t hold a pen anymore. The book that was later released has sold more than 1.1 million copies so far.

Veronica Mars: Season 2 - watched 10/11 episodes.
What can I say? I LOVE Veronica Mars. I fell in love with the show after watching a single episode, and have ever since made sure to catch the next episode. Who would have thought that a show with a pretty corny premise could be this fun and surprising: Veronica used to be part of the cool group, but ever since her best friend Lily was murdered, her life has fallen apart. She’s now an outcast and spends most of her time being a high school student by day, and a detective by night, solving crimes and mysteries… at age 17.

I’m really glad it’s back after a long break.

Summer Snow - watched 1/11 episodes.
I’ve only watched a single episode, so I’m not sure, yet, how this will turn out. The first episode was pretty good though. Very promising.

A love story between a young man who has been forced to grow up too quickly, and a young woman with an ailment that has placed restrictions on her life. Natsuo (Domoto Tsuyoshi) has been looking after his younger brother and sister since the death of their parents. He has also been running the family bicycle shop. Yuki (Hirosue Ryoko) becomes the only person in the world in whom he can confide. For Yuki, Natsuo becomes the catalyst that has her trying to break out of her cocoon.
-Kiku TV

Diggnation - watched 30/30 episodes.

Well, Diggnation is not exactly a TV-show, but is a podcast. “Podcast” was voted word of the year 2005 and has been defined as: “a digital recording of a radio broadcast or similar program, made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal audio player” - in the upcoming 2006 edition of the New Oxford American Dictionary.

Diggnation is a podcast hosted by Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht, where they sit down, have a beer beers and talk about the top stories over at digg, of which Kevin Rose is the CEO. I watch this show religiously every sunday. The episodes can be downloaded at Revision3.

Orange Days - watched 5/11 episodes.

A pretty good show about a guy called Yuuki Kai, who goes to a university, where he one day meets this girl Hagyo Sae, who’s playing the violin. She’s lost her hearing and can only communicate through sign language.

I was later surprised to find out that the girl who plays Sae, is Mitsuko, the ultimate bad girl, of Battle Royale, one of my favorite movies ever.

Whew! So many good tv-series, so little time…

Chinese Idol

I’m not the biggest fan of those Idol shows, but is still somehow fascinated with them, and usually caught myself watching the Danish version almost every week. Obviously I couldn’t watch American Idol, since I don’t live there, but I still heard some songs by Clay Aiken and actually really like him. Nothing ever really came out of the people who’ve won on the Danish version of the show though.

Anyway, on to the whole point with this post. Yesterday I stumbled upon this video through YouTube and what a freaking talent she is! From what I can gather I think she’s the winner of the Chinese version of the show, and if true she certainly deserves it. Didn’t know it was possible to sound that good on such high notes live.

Plus, she’s smokin’ hot.
