Play! - A Video Game Symphony

This is SO geeky and I SO wanna go. “Play! - A Video Game Symphony” is the first ever concert “featuring visuals with live music from video games performed by full orchestra and choir”. Re-watching some of the key scenes from Final Fantasy X accompanied with live music would simply make me tremble with joy. They also play music from Silent Hill, Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear Solid just to mention my personal favorites.

Here’s the entire list from their website:

* FINAL FANTASY
* THE ELDER SCROLLSĀ® III: MORROWIND
* METAL GEAR SOLID
* THE LEGEND OF ZELDA
* HALO
* SUPER MARIO BROS.
* CHRONO TRIGGER
* CHRONO CROSS
* WORLD OF WARCRAFT
* KINGDOM HEARTS
* SHENMUE
* SILENT HILL
* BATTLEFIELD 1942
* SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

PLAY! A Video Game Symphony is a Symphony world-tour featuring music from blockbuster video games. The music is performed by some of the finest, world-class orchestras and choirs. All concerts take place in classy, prestigious venues. Graphics on large screens suspended above the orchestra accompany the scores, highlighting memorable moments from the video games.

Daniel Hollister:

Haha, whaaat? This is so not the first one. Have you seen Video Games Live? It’s the same thing. Except better. Haha. And it’s already been out a couple years. I’ve gone once already, and I’m set go to again next week, when it comes to Hollywood.

And if you watch this trailer for it from their San Jose show, you’ll see me. I’m the guy who says “fantastic, incredible” in the group of 4 people. Hooray for looking moronic.

Daniel Hollister:

Haha, I so didn’t intend for it to embed the trailer into your blog.

Dennis:

I had no idea it would embed like that… that aside, pretty cool that you’re in the vid! And thanks for correcting me ;-)

It’s not like I’m trying to make stuff up, just pretty sure I was right since I’d read that. Again, thanks for the correction..
