“My Girl And I” is the Korean version of Crying Out Love, In The Center Of The World, which originates from Japan. It’s immensively popular in Japan and has also been made into a movie and a TV-series (both from 2004) but it all began with the book of same name, which has sold more than 3 million copies making it the no. 1 bestseller of all time in Japan. I loved the Japanese movie, the Tv-series and I’m currently reading the book, but have mixed feelings about My Girl And I.
I was immediately excited when I first heard about this movie a few months ago. I already knew and loved the Crying Out Love universe, but also because My Sassy Girl’s Cha Tae Hyeon (Kyon-woo) is starring in it. But when the credits rolled I didn’t quite have the same feeling as when I watched Crying Out Love. It just didn’t move me that much. It was pretty good, but I probably won’t watch it again, whereas I will definitely watch Crying Out Love on some rainy day in the future. I can’t really put my finger on it, but this movie lacks something… something essential.
Uhm, I’ll post my comments when I’m done with the movie. I’m kindah excited on the chemistry of leads. hehe
thanks for the review! sigh* im still downloading it :)
No problem, hope you enjoy it. :-)
Well, more than I did at least, although that shouldn’t be too hard.
