So episode 8 (chronologically episode 10) was released today and I’m glad I didn’t need to wait any longer to get things solved. When they did episode 6 (Remote Island Syndrome Part I) and I found out that the next episode wouldn’t be this one I was hoping it would air soon, and so it did. I really don’t have a problem with the fact that the episodes jump around like this. I really like it actually.
Anyway episode 8 was really good! Intense and exciting and some scenes were made in a mindblowingly cool way and there were some cute ones as well as there usually are. This anime’s diversity is one of its strength. You really never know what to expect when you start watching. I had a feeling that the outcome of this episode was what would happen when I watched part I, but was still thoroughly entertained in a way only The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya has been able to do so far.
And the red scenes (as seen in the header) were one of the highlights for me, because it looked SO cool and it was made with real people. In the previous episode they had an awesome HUGE CGI cricket and this time around they have some disturbing artsy imagery. I’m not expecting some new and different stuff like this in every episode, but I just really can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
Some trivia from the previous episode:
The official website of Haruhi Suzumiya reflects what had happened in episode 7 of the anime. The title and the SOS Brigade logo are corrupted just like in that episode. Sometimes the logo changes to ZOZ Brigade and the title is not corrupted, just as the website has been “repaired” in the end of the episode. The visitor count also matches that which was in episode 7, 29819, if the Brigade logo is not corrupted.
And here’s a screenshot of the preview for episode 9 (chronologically episode 14 - final episode?):
