A few days ago I received an e-mail from Amazon that said that they had experienced an error, which accidentally made them ship out more products to me than I had ordered. It also said that I had to return the extra products, but that I would receive a £5.00 gift certificate to make up for it.
Anyway fast forward to now, and I’m sitting here with two copies of Akira: The Ultimate Edition, a brilliant movie by the way.
Amazon send me another e-mail today saying that I could just keep the extra item, suggesting that I donate it to charity or whatever and also not mentioning anything about my gift certificate, which means I get to keep that as well, I guess.
I had to go all the way to the post office in the blistering cold to get the second copy (which I mistakenly thought was Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance), but I’m not complaining. Who knows, I might even be able to sell this for cheap to someone? Now I just hope that they’re also sending me two (or more, hehe) copies of MGS3, since I ordered these items together a long time ago. Here’s to hoping…
Gotta love Amazon - the company, which when it fucks up, fucks up in style… :-)
Wow, that was pretty cool of them to let you keep the gift certificate, and extra copy. Can’t say I’ve heard much about Akira myself, other than that its popular, but it sounds like you enjoyed it.
You know, you wouldn’t think a popular and well known store like Amazon would screw up like that. But its great that they did. Now if only more stores would do that ;P
